The trek of Chandrashila hill to reach Chandrashila temple is as beautiful and exciting as it is difficult as well because after Tungnath temple its climbing is almost straight which is difficult for a common man to do. Trekking companies also use the Deoria Chandrashila trek route to reach here. It is meant to say that there are two ways to reach the peak of Chandrashila, the first Chandrashila Tungnath trek and the second Deoria Tal Chandrashila trek. Let us know about the second way of Chandrashila in this article.

Rishikesh-Rudraprayag
This trek is bigger than the Tungnath Chandrashila trek, surrounded by forests, expensive, and open throughout the year, which is mainly used by trekking and travel companies. The total length of this trek is around 25 to 30 kilometers which takes 4 to 6 days to complete. The number of days depends on the tracking service you are doing the trek through. Along with this, you can also go on this trek with your own camp and food, but for this people use only the Chopta trek.
Ukhimath
When you are going from Ukhimath to Chopta village, then there is a village called Sari in the middle from where this trek starts. In winter, people prefer to trek from here when the road from Sari village to Chopta village is closed due to snowfall. This booking is done by many travel companies.
Sari village
For this, you have to get down from Sari village and trek to Deoria Tal, which is just 3 kilometers away. It takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Deoria Tal is a beautiful lake where the water is crystal clear. You can clearly see the reflection of the surrounding hills in this lake. Also, this lake is surrounded by forests where you will get to see many colorful flowers and birds.
Deoria Tal
Then for the next two days, from Deoria Tal, Rohini Bugyal and Syalmi reach Bania Kund, whose distance is nearly 15 to 16 kilometers. Here, for your stay at different places, arrangements for the campus, etc. are made by travel companies. This trek is surrounded by forests of bamboo and buransh, whose path is very exciting.
If you ever plan to go on a trek, you can do the Deoban trek for trekking.
Rohini Bugyal-Syalmi-Baniakund
The next day, from Bania Kund, via Tungnath Temple, the summit of Chandrashila is reached. Keep in mind here that whether you go to Chandrashila from Chopta or from Deoria Tal, there is only one way to reach Chandrashila after Tungnath, which is a straight climb. People do the Deoria Tal trek for more adventure and to spend more time here. The trek from Bania Kund to Tungnath Temple and Chandrashila is about 7 to 10 km.
On this day you have to reach Chandrashila from Baniya Kund and then reach back to Baniya Kund on the same day because there is no arrangement for stopping ahead of Baniya Kund. Some companies bring everyone back to Surrey Village on the same day as disembarking is easier.
Tungnath-Chandrashila
When the trek to Chopta Tungnath is closed in the months of December to February, then people go from this trek to Chandrashila to enjoy the snow. However, during this time 10-10 feet of snow accumulates there, so take full care of yourself. Also, Tungnath Temple comes in the middle of this trek but it is closed during this time because due to heavy snowfall, more than half of the temple is covered with snow. During this, the main idol is installed in the nearby village of Makkumath.
